Köparen bör ej använda EXW om han inte har möjlighet att genomföra de formaliteter som krävs för export. EXW kan användas vid alla typer av transporter. FCA and EXW form part of Incoterms® 2020. Both these terms are very similar. Both of these terms can be used for any mode of transport. However, there are some important differences between them. Let's look at them closer to understand them better.

Under the Incoterms 2020 rules, EXW means the seller has fulfilled its obligation when the goods are made available to the buyer, usually at the seller’s location. The seller should package the goods appropriately or as specified in the agreement between both parties. An EXWorks Incoterm is an agreement that maximizes the buyer’s risk and responsibility, by requiring the seller to only make the goods available for the buyer at their warehouse or dock. Once the buyer collects the cargo, the buyer assumes all other responsibilities, including transport to the port of destination. Incoterms Explained: EXW: Ex Works. The seller makes the goods available at their premises, or at another named place.
